How to Increase or Decrease HP in CS:GO?
Why are we starting with CS:GO? Because in this version, there was a simple console command that allowed players to change health values:
Set your health to 1000 HP in CS:GO:
Set the health of the player you are looking at to 10 HP:
Why Doesn't This Method Work in CS 2?
Attention! This console command no longer works in CS 2. However, an alternative method for changing health has been found, which we will discuss below.
How to Enable Cheat Mode in CS 2?
Before changing the health amount, it is necessary to activate the cheat mode. To do this, the map creator (admin) opens the console (using the `
or ~
key) and enters the command:
Activate cheat mode:
Once cheat mode is activated, you can proceed with changing the health (HP) in CS 2.
How to Increase Health (HP) in CS 2?
In CS 2, changing health has become more complex. Now, you need to use a new method that involves executing multiple commands:
This sequence of commands will give you 1000 HP:
What Do These Commands Do?
- buddha true — Makes all players immortal, but their health can still drop to 1 HP.
- hurtme 200 — Deals 200 damage to yourself but does not kill you due to the previous command.
- buddha_reset_hp 1000 — Resets your health to 1000 HP (you can change the number).
- buddha false — Disables immortality for all players on the server.
Done! Now, only you have 1000 HP, making you practically "immortal".
The buddha_reset_hp 1000 command does not work separately, so this sequence is necessary.
How to Decrease Health (HP) in CS 2?
Since CS 2 does not allow setting an exact health value, the only way to reduce health is by dealing damage to yourself. This can be done using the following command:
Without armor, decreases health by 60 HP (leaving you with 40 HP):
With armor, decreases health by 30 HP (leaving you with 70 HP):
Armor Considerations When Reducing Health
Note! If you have armor, the damage is halved. For example, to reduce health to 10 HP with armor, you need to deal 90 * 2 = 180 damage (hurtme 180
).
Frequently Asked Questions (FAQ)
Does Health Reset Every Round?
Yes, when a new round begins, health resets to the default value. You will need to enter the commands again.
Can I Change the Health of Bots?
No, this method only works for players. However, you can coordinate with friends so they apply these commands themselves.
Is There a Health Change Method Like in CS:GO?
Unfortunately, the command ent_fire player addoutput "health 1000"
no longer works in CS 2. We have covered the only alternative method available at the moment.
What Is the Maximum Health Value?
This method allows you to set health up to 999999 HP, making you practically immortal in CS 2.
