The knife occupies the third slot in the inventory, after the primary weapon and the pistol. It cannot be dropped, and knife skins are among the rarest and most expensive in the game. In CS:GO , there were console commands that allowed players to change the knife directly in hand. In CS 2, this process has changed slightly. In this guide, we will show you how to use console commands to spawn any knife in the new version of the game.
Step 1: Activating Cheat Mode
The first step is to launch a map with bots or any workshop map. The server creator must enable cheat mode; otherwise, the following steps will not work.
To do this, open the console (press the `
or ~
key) and enter the command:
Activate cheat mode:
After successfully enabling cheat mode, you can proceed to the next steps.
Step 2: Enabling the Knife Drop Function
In the second step, you need to drop the knife — you'll soon understand why. But how do you do this if the game doesn't allow it? A special console command comes to the rescue:
Enables the ability to throw the knife:
After activating this command, you can drop the knife just like any other weapon by using the standard G key. Once the knife is dropped, you can move on to the next step!
Step 3: Replacing the Old Knife with a New One
Aim at the dropped knife until the "Knife" prompt appears. This is necessary to replace it with any other knife of your choice. Next, use the command from the table below and enter it into the console.

Step 4: Completing the Knife Replacement
Close the console, and you will see that the knife has been successfully replaced. Now simply pick it up and use it as you would in a normal game.
Note: However, keep in mind that if you die or a new round starts, your new knife will revert to the default one.
How to Replace Knives for All Players on the Server?
There is another useful command that allows you to replace the default knife with any other knife for all players and bots on the server. To do this, enter the following command in the console:
Changes the knife for all players and bots on the server:
In this case, all standard knives will be replaced with a karambit.
To see the new knife, simply switch between weapons. If you want to choose a different knife, change the numbers at the end of the command.
Bind for Knife Change in CS 2
If you have replaced the knife for all players on the server, but they keep getting the default knife after each round, you can create a bind to change the knife with a single key press. Use the following command:
Bind to change all knives to the key i
:
You can also bind this command to NUMPAD keys, which are typically unused in the game.
