Best Maps for Aim Training in CS2

Top 10 Best Maps for Aim Training in CS 2

At the beginning of 2019, we published an article about the “Best Maps for Aim Training in CS:GO”. Now, in 2024, CS:GO has been replaced by a new installment of the game—Counter-Strike 2. The game has transitioned to the Source 2 engine, bringing numerous changes. For example, old maps from CS:GO no longer work in CS2 due to the change in file format from .bsp to .vpk.

Steam Workshop map creators have been actively adapting their work to the new engine. Therefore, it’s time to update the list of the best aim training maps, including both iconic maps from CS:GO and new ones with additional features and capabilities.

  1. Subscribe to the desired map in the Steam Workshop or add a ready-made map to the CS2 game files.
  2. Enter the game, go to the “Play” section, and select the “Workshop Maps” tab.
  3. Choose the added map and click “Start”.
Why Are Aim Training Maps Necessary

Why Are Aim Training Maps Necessary?

Aim refers to shooting accuracy. The faster and more accurately you aim at your opponent, the higher your chances of winning a firefight. Many players warm up or practice before competitive matches, Premier mode games, or Faceit matches to improve their shooting accuracy. This can be done in various modes like “Deathmatch,” casual mode, or public servers, but Workshop maps offer specialized conditions and scenarios for training, making them particularly useful for honing aim skills.

Aim Training Maps

We’ve compiled a list of the most relevant and popular aim training maps in CS2. In this article, you’ll find links to the maps in the Steam Workshop, as well as direct download links.

This may be useful for those with a pirated version of CS2, for installing maps on a PC without an internet connection, or if you’re unable to add a map through a Steam subscription.

Aim Training Map – Aim Botz

Aim Training Map – Aim Botz

Let’s start with the most popular aim training map, with over 4.5 million subscribers (downloads) — Aim Botz. This map became iconic during CS:GO and remains popular in CS2. Its creator, the famous mapmaker uLLeticaL, is also known for many other popular maps among players. Aim Botz quickly gained popularity among esports athletes and streamers, who introduced it to many casual players.

The popularity of Aim Botz lies in its simplicity: the player is at the center of the map and must quickly and accurately shoot numerous bots surrounding them from all sides.

The map is constantly evolving and now includes many new features, each deserving of separate consideration. On the map, you can adjust bot movement speed, their number, activate headshot-only modes, add or remove objects, and more — all of which affect the difficulty and effectiveness of aim training. Understanding all the settings is easy, and we highly recommend this map for aim training in CS2.

Aim Training Map – CSStats Training Map

Aim Training Map – CSStats Training Map (CSGOHUB)

The CSStats Training Map is another highly popular aim training map in CS2, previously known as CSGOHUB in CS:GO. The map was created by a popular service for tracking player statistics in CS2. The map stands out for its high level of detail and visually appealing design. It offers three main aim training modes:

  • RANGE – A large number of bots stand still. Practice quick aim transitions from one bot to another.
  • RUSH – Bots run towards you. Your task is to prevent any bot from reaching you.
  • SHUFFLE – Bots move and constantly change positions, hiding or emerging from behind objects.

Additionally, the CSStats Training Map features interesting challenges that set specific goals for the number of kills or time:

  • SPEED – One bot appears in a random location on the field for a short time. Your task is to quickly aim and hit the target.
  • TRIAL – A timer starts, and you must hit a certain number of bots as quickly as possible.
  • KZ – This is not aim training but a test of your ability to jump from one object to another. Complete the obstacle course in the shortest time.
  • BHOP – If you know how to bunny hop, this track is for you. Test your skills and complete the Bhop course.

The map also includes a weapon selection menu, the ability to adjust the number of bots, their spawn locations, and difficulty levels.

Aim Training Map – 5e_aimhub

Aim Training Map – 5e_aimhub

The 5e_aimhub map was created by a Chinese esports portal and features labels in both Chinese and English. This map offers various aim training modes, such as shooting at bots and spheres, as well as reaction tests. Let’s look at each of them in detail:

  • Warm up training – A classic aim training mode with bots, similar to previous maps.
  • Recoil training – Spray control training. You must hold down fire and shoot at a specific area. The screen displays the number of hits and misses.
  • Peek training – An arrow indicates from which side a bot will appear. You must peek out from cover, quickly aim, and hit the target. The result is displayed in milliseconds.
  • Hold training – Bots run past a small gap. This mode helps train reaction time when using sniper rifles. The gap size can be adjusted.
  • Reflection test – A reaction time test. After the color changes from red to green, you must shoot as quickly as possible. The average reaction time over 10 attempts is displayed on the screen.
  • Aim training – Aim training by shooting at spheres. You have 1 minute to hit as many targets as possible. At the end, your accuracy and the number of targets hit are displayed.
  • Perceive test – You are in complete darkness, and a ticking bomb sound appears from a side. You must turn towards the sound and shoot the bot that appears there.

The 5e_aimhub map combines many training modes and methods. The only minor drawback is the predominance of gray tones in the design. Otherwise, we and other players recommend this map for training.

The Fast Warmup map stands out for its excellent optimization, providing high FPS, which speaks to its quality. However, it’s not overly simple. It’s designed in light, pleasant tones and offers several training modes, making it ideal for warming up before a game.

The map features the following modes:

  • Classic shooting at stationary bots – ideal for basic aim training.

Aim Training Map – Training - Blank

Aim Training Map – Training – Blank

The Training – Blank map is inspired by the popular game Superhot, where time slows down when the player isn’t moving and speeds up during shooting or movement. The effect is implemented using console commands to control time.

The map recreates the Superhot style: objects are in white-gray tones, and enemies are represented as red mannequins. If you want to train in this style but without time slowing, you can disable it in the map settings.
