What is Prefire in CS2?
Prefire (from the English “Prefire” – preemptive fire) is a technique where a player starts shooting at a suspected enemy position before actually seeing the opponent. This gives the player an advantage in duels, as they initiate the shooting first.
How to Train Prefire in CS2?
Special maps for prefire training have appeared in the Steam Workshop. On these maps, you select a weapon and the difficulty level of the bots, then follow a route where bots are placed in positions commonly occupied by real players. Your task is to quickly aim at each of these positions and check for enemies. Missing a position may result in the bot “attacking” you, which helps reinforce the reaction to potential threats.
Benefits of Prefire Training
Training on such maps helps:
- Memorize key positions on official Valve maps.
- Speed up reactions to potential threats.
- Improve chances of winning in competitive matches and Premier mode.
Prefire Maps by 5EPLAY
The Chinese esports portal 5EPLAY creates maps for aim and prefire training in CS2. Currently, they offer maps for Mirage, Dust 2, Inferno, Ancient, Anubis, and Vertigo. The list will be updated with new maps in the future.
Settings on 5EPLAY Prefire Maps
Upon entering a 5EPLAY map, first select the Russian language to avoid displaying information in Chinese characters. Then, choose any weapon or knife and approach the bot settings panel. Let’s take a closer look at each bot setting option, as it affects the effectiveness of prefire training:
- Random BOT: Bots will be placed in random quantities and positions along the route, allowing you to replay the same route without repetition.
- BOT kill: Kills all bots, allowing you to respawn them in new positions.
- Ammo Infinity: Enables or disables infinite ammo without the need to reload.
- Bot Armor: Adds or removes armor and helmets from bots.
- Decal Clear: Enables or disables blood and bullet traces.
- Life Steal: Restores 100 HP upon successfully hitting a bot.
- Wallhack BOT: Allows you to see bot positions through walls.
- BOT Weapon: Selects the weapon for bots: Desert Eagle, AK-47, or AWP.
- BOT: Allows you to choose bot difficulty: harmless (does not attack), typical, sturdy, or hellish.
After selecting your weapon and configuring the bots, you can choose a route. Use the arrows to select the route you want to train on, then shoot at the “Start Training” button above the mini-map.
If you don’t want to follow a specific route, choose “Free Movement”, where bots will be distributed across the entire map.
